Who can join and how much does it cost?

Cast It Talent is open to both Union and Non-Union actors, as well as Represented and Unrepresented talent. We welcome talent from any geographical location in the world. Agents and managers can also join Cast It Talent for free to set up accounts for their clients.

Membership Tiers

Basic Membership (Free)
To sign up for a basic account, visit the membership page. If you received a submission link for a specific project from your Talent Representative, you can register for a basic account directly from the submission page.

  • Allows you to submit a headshot, resume, and video to roles on the "Roles Tab."

  • Video submissions may be subject to a $5 fee per submission.

Pro Membership
A Pro membership costs $19 per month (or $180 per year). This tier allows you to:

  • Upload, host, and share up to 20GB of videos, headshots, and resumes.

  • Submit to all roles in your Roles Tab for free.

  • Create packages (e.g., a comedy package or drama package).

  • Send packages to over 700 Casting Director and Studio inboxes via the dropdown menu.

  • Create a URL to email your package to anyone.

Family Accounts

If you are managing multiple child accounts, or your own personal account plus a child account, we suggest creating a Family Account. This allows you to manage multiple profiles from a single email login.

How do I manage my profile privacy?

Unless you share your Actor URL, your profile is not publicly discoverable. Additionally, every video submitted through Cast It Talent is automatically set to ‘Private,’ meaning only you and the Casting Office you submit to can access the video.

To control how your profile and media are seen, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to your Edit Profile page to set your entire profile visibility to either "Casting Directors Only" or "Actors, Agents, and Casting Directors."

  2. Navigate to your Media Tab and mouse over any media icon to toggle between "include" or "remove" from your public profile.

How do I submit to roles?

Cast It vs. Cast It Talent

It is helpful to understand the difference between the two platforms:

  • Cast It is the business database used by studios and casting directors to manage the casting process (used for 85% of network TV and 95% of studio features).

  • Cast It Talent is the actor's direct link into Cast It. Submissions here are uploaded directly to the Cast It system for review by production executives.

The Submission Process

Video is required for most submissions so Casting can see you on camera. To submit:

  1. Locate the role on the Roles page.

  2. Upload your desired media (headshot, resume, demo reel, or self-tape).

  3. Click the Submit link.

Note on Sides: We do not always receive sides. If none are posted, we recommend submitting your headshot, resume, and demo reel or an appropriate self-tape pitch.

Eligibility and Deadlines

  • Deadlines: Casting often does not set specific deadlines and may turn off roles at any time. It is highly recommended to submit as soon as possible.

  • Demographics: If a role states strict age or location requirements, there are no exceptions. Only submit to roles that fit your description.

  • Location: You can use "Gig-Finder" to filter roles by location. Casting offices frequently use the platform to find talent outside of Los Angeles and New York.

How do I manage video uploads?

Troubleshooting Uploads

If your video will not upload, try the following steps:

  1. Ensure you are using the correct file types (mpeg, mov, wmv, mp3, mp4, mpg, m4v).

  2. Verify the file size is under 500MB.

  3. Check that there are no special characters in the file name.

  4. Try a different browser (e.g., Chrome or Firefox).

  5. Cancel the upload and try again, or wait a few minutes.

Video Conversion

After uploading, your video goes through a conversion process to ensure it is viewable on Mac and PC. This can take 10-20 minutes. You will know it is finished when you can play the video in your History Tab or Media Tab.

Why isn't video hosting free?

Hosting video is data-intensive and incurs storage and transmission costs. Charging a fee also helps keep the database free of duplicate or "junk" accounts, ensuring the casting community trusts Cast It Talent as an optimal source for professional talent.
