Introducing the Quick Link Activity Log: A Powerful Tool for Casting Users

Cast It is excited to announce a powerful new feature designed to enhance the security and tracking capabilities for our casting users: the Quick Link Activity Log. With this latest update, users can now monitor the activity around the Quick Links they share, gaining valuable insights into who is engaging with their content and when.

Feature Overview

The Quick Link Activity Log is a robust security feature that allows casting users to see the IP addresses of individuals who have viewed their Quick Links. The option to collect names and/or email addresses of the recipients of your Quick Links is also provided. These details will also be displayed in the Activity Log, if collected. This transparency ensures that sensitive content remains secure while providing a clear record of user engagement.

How to Access the Activity Log

To access the Activity Log:

1. Navigate to the specific Quick Link that you have generated.
2. Click on the "Activity Log" option associated with that Quick Link.
   
   
   
3. Review the user interactions, which can include IP addresses, names, and/or email addresses and timestamps for each interaction.

What Information Does the Activity Log Provide?

The Activity Log will provide the following details:

• IP Address: The unique internet protocol address of the user who accessed the Quick Link.
• Names: The name entered by the recipient of the Quick Link, if the requirement to enter names is enabled.
• Email Addresses: The verified email address of the recipient of the Quick LInk, if the requirement to verify email addresses is enabled. 
• Timestamps: The specific times when the link was accessed and when each video was viewed.
• Activity: The activity the user performed, for instance, creating, viewing, or editing the Quick Link.

Each access is recorded as a separate entry, and the log is displayed in reverse chronological order.

Enhancing Insights

For a more detailed view, users are encouraged to enable "Require Email Verification" and "Require Name" in the Quick Link settings. This will capture the viewer's name and verified email address alongside their IP address.

To Enable:

1. Go to your Quick Link, and click the "Edit" button on the right-hand side
2. Check the box next to "Require Email Verification" or "Require Name" -- Or choose both!
   
   

Logged Actions

The Activity Log captures a range of actions, including:

• Creation of Quick Links and addition of videos
• Opening of Quick Links
• Viewing, downloading, adding and removal of videos
• Edits to Quick Link settings
• Quick Links sent via email

Privacy Notices

The Quick Link Activity Log respects user privacy:

• A "Privacy Notice" dialog box informs viewers that their IP address will be collected.
• All recipients of a Quick Link receive a Privacy Notice regarding confidentiality.
